We’ve been hard at work on a number of major changes (including a massive update to our Help system, which we’ll talk about later).

Up first, we’ve simplified our navigation by reworking the Customers and Reporting navigations.

New Customers and Reporting navigation

We’ve merged Customer Lists and All Customers together, and moved Current Customer totals over to reporting as “Subscription Totals”.

All Customers merges together Customer Lists and All Customers

All Customers

Stores with large customer bases in Shopify or with large subscription lists in Manage Comics had a nightmare navigating our All Customers and Customer Lists pages before.

We’ve now combined the two pages into one, and optimized both. This gives you more visibility into each customer’s list, while also optimizing this page for speed.

Filters, Adding Subscriptions, Downloading CSV file

1 – The filter area at the top lets you quickly drill down to exactly who you’re looking for. You can filter out by name, show only subscribers, non-subscribers, or de-activated users.

2 – Don’t see the customer you’re looking for? Add a subscription to them (as long as they’re already in Shopify, you can add them).

3 – Want to slice and dice your subscription data? Download a CSV with all of your subscribers, their titles in one handy file.  This even shows you inactive customers and inactive subscriptions.

About your customers

Manage Comics helps you manage your customer’s subscription information easily (although there are a few things we don’t have control over, and we ask that you update those items in Shopify.

1 – Name, we get this right from Shopify, if you want to change Helena’s name, you’ll need to do it over in Shopify.

2 – Subscriber ID, do you use custom box numbers? Here’s where you’ll update it.

3 – Subscriptions, get right in and edit your customer’s subscriptions (more on that page below).

4 – Standard discount, their discount based on your discount rate in settings.

5 – Custom discount, if you want to override an existing discount with a special rate, you’ll do that right here.  This overrides the Standard Discount.

6 – Shipping Type, based on your shipping settings in the Settings area.

7 – Email, this one is also set by Shopify.

Editing Subscriptions for a Customer

Clicking edit on a customer will let you edit the titles they have for subscription or pre-order as well as any inactive subscriptions they may have. You can also disable a subscriber from this page.

Search – Search anything on this page.

Disable Subscriber – remove them from your system and prevent them from signing up again with this account.

Add Item – Search through our database for items to subscribe or pre-order.

Subscriptions – Currently active subscriptions for the customer.  You can edit the subscription, delete the subscription (immediately) change the start date, or choose the final pull.

Pre-Orders – Currently active and unfulfilled pre-order items.

Inactive – Inactive subscriptions, this can be items deleted by you, ended by the subscriber, or an inactive series.

All Subscriptions lets you manage subscriptions at a title level

All Subscriptions

You told us you wanted a way of managing subscriptions at the title level – we added All Subscriptions.

Annotated All Subscriptions Filter Bar

Our magical filter bar will let you

  1. Choose up to 100 results per page
  2. Filter by publishers
  3. Search specific keywords
  4. Add a new subscription

Clicking on a title (5) takes you to that title’s dedicated page.

The subscription title page

On the subscription title page you’ll see all of the people subscribed (along with which cover they’re subscribed to), be able to edit or delete them.

From the filter bar you can (1) search for a specific person, (2)add a new subscriber to the title, or (3) clone subscribers from another title.

Wait, did he just say CLONE SUBSCRIBERS?

Heck yeah! The Code Elves cracked the science of cloning, and now you can search for a similar title, and clone all of those customer over to this title. Let’s say you thought anyone interested in Swamp Dogs would want Stray Dog Days. Just hit “Clone Subscribers From”, and search up the word dog.

Clone subscribers from another title

Hit “Clone Subscribers” and all of those subscribers are added to this title. If they were already on this list, they won’t be doubled up.

*Cloning Subscriptions currently only work for products which can be subscribed to, we are working on a solution for one-shots and non-subscribable products as well.
